Design Considerations
This microphone is intended to operate from a desktop. A hinge between the front and rear stand pieces allows for adjustment, while the microphone body can rotate separately on a swivel joint. The body is suspended from this joint to isolate it from the stand, which helps to prevent unwanted vibrations from being captured.
I 3D printed and assembled a prototype to test the ergonomics and function of the microphone. While the ergonomics were good, I learned that it needed to be scaled up a little. The microphone body also didn't have enough clearance against the rear legs, which was later fixed to allow a larger range of motion.
